about this site

raccoon and zebra is my personal website. it was initially created so that i could practice my html skills and maybe get a job working on the web (mission accomplished!). i also wanted to archive any writing or musical projects so that i could have them all in one place, including childhood works.

basically the purpose of the site hasn't changed, except that it became more blog-like. initially i thought blogs were ridiculous: why would the world want to read every idiots bemused rants? but blogs don't even need to be popular or read by many people. for example, almost all of the blogs i ever read are by people i know or have at least met. i love checking in on a friend's blog when i have a few spare moments, and i think there's potential for it to help keep people connected in this increasingly busy era.

Hi Owen, I'm Lee, and I run an indie netlabel called Happy Puppy Records. I was an big fan and supporter of Logan's music back in the mp3. com days, and I treasure my CD-R copies of his first couple of albums which I bought from there. It's hard to believe he's gone, in fact I still don't really believe it. I want to create a 'best of' compilation of the freely downloadable tracks from the jrscienceclub archive and host it on my netlabel website (with a link back to the website so people can buy his music too) in order to expose his music to a wider audience. I'd like to get permission from his family for this project, and since you were close to Logan, perhaps you can pass this request onto the family for me...? Thanks very much, ~LR

Hey Owen, long time no see! This is Will from Merced and the Fatty Mocha back in the LTF days. I just found this site of yours the other day and it looks like things are going well for you, still playing chess at least once in awhile I hope. Well, I now work in Nevada for Amazon.com as a network tech and miss all of the good indie music from back home. Email me sometime and keep making music, I am still attempting to make some myself.
