yesterday i visited my good friend logan who has been battling with cancer for several years now. logan and i played together in a band for over 4 years, and he is honestly probably the smartest and most creative person i've ever met, while also being low ego and humble about it all. the courage and tenacity he has shown in battling this illness has likewise been unparalleled. a few months ago he wrote and recorded 81 very short songs based on titles submitted by friends and fans via the internet. yesterday a proof of the artwork for the new album arrived in the mail. it looked great and included liner notes by dr. demento that pay homage to small works of art, drawing comparison between logan's mini songs and the haiku. during my visit, i also got to listen to the album and then logan let me copy it onto my ipod. this album is amazing. you can read more about it on logan's site and check out perhaps the best track, a song called "mr. t".
